clam ?

I have a crocea clam. I have had him for about 2 years. While cleaning the tank today I noticed a spot on the outside of his shell about 3/4" below the ridge. It looks like his skin. Maybe the shell is cracked? He is doing fine, I'm just concerned. Had another clam in there for about 6 months. Took him out about 4 months ago (no room for both). Any info would be appreciated.

I believe the mantle should heal. As long as nothings trying to pick at teh wounds ( ie.e hermite and crabs)

thanks guys, I will leave him be. I do not have to many things in there to mess with him.

What would cause that to happen? Nothing has fallen on him, and he is on the sand bed.
