clown activity

ive had these mated maroon clowns for going on two weeks and for the past day or two i catch the female in this spot cleaning and laying straight up as pictured could she be about to lay eggs? when i come near the tank to get a better picture she swims up and moves away from the spot so i cant
get a close up

they are eating fine otherwise and water perimeters are spot on

Hard to say, but it could be cleaning. Usually when breeding is imminent, both male and female will scrape a flat surface with their teeth to clean it.

Before that, the female will often fan up the sand in an effort to clean off a surface. The tooth scraping comes right before they do the deed.

yea thats what shes been doing fanning up the sand in that one spot over the past 2-3 days only in that 1 spot
