Clown mudered my firefish

Hey guys,

Currently have two Clarkii clowns and a cardinalfish (caudern) in a cycled 29g tank. I received a firefish as a gift, but my Clarkii killed it in like 5 minutes.

Why did this happen? The water is perfect, plenty of space, and the Clarkii leave my cardinalfish alone?!

On the brightside, I sold Simon my leopard wrasse.

Maybe there families were at war on the reef so it continued in your tank. You know how rival gangs continue to fight in prison. I guess this isn't making things any better. On a good note, your wrasse is in good hands.

Like Kevin said Clownfish can be aggresive sometime. Especially the females.

Rajfish don't take this the wrong way but I think maybe you should relax on adding fish for a while in the past few days you have had nothing but trouble with your fish. Your success rate isnt the best at this juncture..you need to do more research on the types of fish you can keep and are actually able to keep together. This will save you alot of grief and money in the long run. Good luck!

There are a lot of cool options other than fish ... consider corals and inverts ... just as beautiful and fascinating to watch, I think. You might want to turn that 29g into a mini-reef since I believe a FOWLR tank should be much larger.

Also, you can probably stock your tank with fairly inexpensive frags from club members.

yea he or she is right u will be able to fill that tank up with corals easily.

clowns are just plain evil i had the same thing happen. my clown even attacks me when i clean my thank.

My clown nips me, if I touch a particular rock he has bonded with that day. He finds a certain rock or coral in the tank, guards it jelously, then abandons it a few days later in favore of a new and improved rock/coral..

He's a black and white clarkii, beautiful, interesting and crazy
