Hey guys as you know I scored the extreme snowflakes.

Right as I was moving I had a tank accident and lost all the live rock and sand.

Right now my clowns are in a 2.5 gallon and seem to be fine but I'm running around like crazy trying to get their new home bal up and run it.

Can anyone keep them for a week or two?

A qt is fine. Just need someone's clean tank as these babies cost me a small fortune.

Let me know if you can help. You must be a member and someone I've delt with. I have to feel comfy about it before I say yes.

Any bugs? Or weird symptoms? My qt is currently not set up. I don't mind setting it up for you, or letting you borrow it. It is a 10 gallon

Nope nothing wrong! Just feel bad for them. I can't make water yet to change either.

I got a hob with matrix ill give you and food.

I can bring them in tomorrow if you want. Thanks so much Dylan!

Sounds good, but I will be all over town tomorrow. Could you possibly bring them to the house tomorrow evening?

If not, I'll be in snellville tomorrow

Oops, I'll be in snellville Friday. If you can hold off till Friday, I can meet you near web gin house rd after my last job. I should be finished by 5pm. Tomorrow I'll be on the west side

That works. I'm going to buy new water tomorrow.

Here's the dilemma

I bought new water last night and new sand. All dead. Out in tank ad it's still a bit cloudy.

I have no rock in the tank. I'm afraid the water isn't safe. Plus I have all my test kits away lol.
I plan to get it tested and buy a piece of live rock tomorrow.

Do you think after the live rock is in the tank it should be safe?

If I was going to set up a temp tank or insta-qt tank, I would take water from my 93, and then do daily 80% water changes using water from the 93. Other people have different practices, but that's just how I like to do it.

In your case, with no established water, I'd buy a bunch of premixed water. There is a huge risk. Baby fish need lots of food. Lots of food=lots of poop=ammonia=death in a small tank that has no bio filtration.

It's a risk. Plan for the worst, hope for the best, expect nothing.

What if I empty the tank and buy new water and just put live rock that I buy? Put more matrix and more prime in? Never set up insta tanks and this move screwed me. I ha to turn out of the way of a moron on the road and all my water and rock flew out my buckets!

Just make sure that the premix is exactly the same as the current water. If you are able to reduce and stress factors, it's best to do so

As far as rock goes, make sure you trust the source. New, or fresh rock may not always have all the good bacteria built back up. There is always some die off during shipping, and you wouldn't want to put freshly shipped rock into a new tank with $500 fish in it. Lol.

Edit: Can you round up a small skimmer and some carbon?
