Clown swallowed by Anemone

A few folks have asked me to post pics of the clown swimming down inside the mouth of the anemone and then back out. Here are the best shots I've been able to get.

I forget the authors name but in one of my books he mentions that in the wild the clownfish will actually do this. I had one that slept in the carpet after it closed up but he never actually went in during the day....thats amazing!

I had a couple of black percs that the femaile would do that all the time in my carpet. Very cool to watch

Did we come to your house last spring or early summer?

i've heard of that before.. isn't that damaging or irritating to the anemone?

Gwen you sure did. I took the advice of the group and moved the sump to the basement this week. BTW, I stole your pic of my sump off of TRT. Not real sure what you were trying to show there.:tongue2:

I don't think the anemone minds at all. The female only seems to do this to the larger of the two.

Beautifull pictures and what a nice Anemone.
Speaking of clowns , I have a sweet couple of Maroon clowns and the Female is very large and mean as can be.
Whenever I clean the inside of the tank she is attacking every 5 seconds and it does hurt....... Little crapper.
even when I put my face near the glass she starts bulking up and makes threatning moves towards me. Very entertaining and funny to watch

My clown dives into the hammer corals. He loves them and acts like they are anemones. Never knew they would do that until I saw it.
