In your experience and even opinion, what seem to be the Gold Stripe Maroon Clown's favorite anemone? :fish:

Also, I know that clownfish don't typical fancy the Condy Anemone's, but for aesthetic purposes, we were considering getting one for the reef tank, are there any problems with the Condy's that may make us steer away from placing one in our tank?

Don't know about the GSM's fav, but Condy's are notorious for moving. Most nems will move from time to time, but for some reason, Condy's are known for it. If you have anything else in the tank that's sensitive, they could be in danger.

In the wild Maroon Clowns naturally host in bubble-tip anemones. When I first introduced a green bubble-tip anemone to my tank with a female maroon clown she dove into it while it was still in my hand before I placed it on the rocks.

I wouldn't recommend the condy, they are also notorious for eating fish.

As Bud mentioned the Bubble Tip Anemone is its natural host. I've seen them host in Long-Tentacled anemones too.

I *have* seen a pair host in a condy but that's the exception, not the rule.

I have a condy at the shop I've had for nearly 2 years. It was brought in by somebody who'd lost several fish to it (I don't bring in condies). I've kept bunches of clowns in the same tank over the last couple of years (with other anemones) and never once have I seen a clown host in it.

I have to say, one of my favorite things in this hobby is watching different species' propensity to form symbiotic relationships. Something that's so ingrained into their instinct, even when they've been captive bred for generations. Animals are neat!

That's what I feared about the Condy, they are beautiful, but my research last night and this morning though minimal, made me question it all together!

The to Maroon's we got from you this week, have truly become two peas in a pod and are so dang adorable together... if they end up a mated pair, we already have our money on which one is going to be the female, lol... I figure they could use a nice little anemone to go play with sooner than later! :-) I think we were steering toward the bubble tips anyway, though some of the long tentacles are gorgeous... decisions...

Yes..definately the bubble tip. I believe the green is more popular with them both not sure.
