Clownfish Mating?

My 2 clownfish (a black and white false perc and a regular false perc) have been really fighting over the past few days. I bought them both from the same tank at the same time from keen reef when they were juviniles and they have really grown, and now i think they are fighting to determine the female, but i'm not sure. They are really fighting, ripping each other's fins, etc and was wondering if this is normal or not. The bigger of the two usually forces the smaller one into the top corner and makes them stay there unil it gets bored, then they fight again and one goes to the other corner. Is this just normal mating clownfish behavior or should i remove one for a day or two?
Thanks

Ps... They have been doing this for about 2 days.

Im guessing you put the clowns in at different times.

sometimes when you do this clowns don't take to eachother and they fight. It dont sound like mating just sounds like bullying

normally they'll work it out rather quickly. It is odd if you've had them together for many months. there can be only one highlander... maybe you have 2 ready for a cat fight?
If they don't settle down soon, get rid of one and introduce a smaller one.

ok...i bought them both and introduced them to the tank at the same time...theyve been fighting for 2 days, but have slowed down a bit...also the black one is a bit larger than the orange one, but is no more than 1 1/2 in long and the regular perc is about 1 1/4 so a little size difference
Thanks

put the smaller one in a breeder net/container so they can still see and interact but the aggressive one can't do any harm to the other. After a while they should be ok. that's how I paired mine together.
