I'm not sure if Jesse ever got fish from Doni (snowcasso), but the 2 on top are mine. picasso and pearly picasso.
the "platinum" can be seen in my avatar

Ok. What's the secret? I have a BTA, and placed him in the tank first so he could move around and find a place he likes. 3 days later, I added my maroon clown pair, and they went in the opposite corner of the tank, and are literally hosting an empty corner, and refuse to move out of it. They guard it feverishly, and won't even venture out for food.

BTW: Absolutely beautifully fish!!!

You can put the nem and clowns together in a basket for a few days so they get to know each other, some will do it on there own and some need some help

Sounds like a novel idea... I may put them in a 10 gallon tank together with nothing else in it for a week, or so?

Nice clowns Fido. :-) My pair love my RBTA. A few times I have thought one had expired because it was laying on top of the RBTA and not moving at all for a few minutes. LOL It was like a recliner for him. Clowns are a lot of fun to watch.

I used to have a pair of gold striped maroons in my old 45 bowfront the female "big mama" would guard that thing like her life depended on it. And whenever I fed pellet food shed eat one and then take one back and spit it out on the nem like she was feeding it lol

Man. Gotta love it. LOL. This thread inspired me. As seen above in my post, my clowns wouldn't leave their corner long enough to hind the BTA I got for them. They were paried up themselves (obviously happy) in an absolutely empty corner.

After reading this thread, I re-scaped my rock, and moved the BTA to the empty corner that the clowns were hosting. It took two tries and three days, but, finally one clown went into the BTA last night in the corner that both clowns were hosting. So, at this point, all three have at least been in the same corner for three days, and one clown (female) has started hosting the BTA. I figure the male will follow suit, and give them some time to sort it out. They were all in the far corner of the tank where they can't be seen, but, at least they were together.

Well, I wake up this morning and the BTA and female clown have both moved to the middle of the tank, and the remaining clown is still in the empty corner alone. LOL!!!

Well, I guess only time will tell if all three live in together. For now, I'm just gonna sit back and watch how this plays out. LOL...

How in the world do you have more than one pair in there? I just tried to add a pair of regular ocellaris to a black pair that have been in the tank for about 3 weeks and the black ocs tore the crap out of the new pair. Had to put the new guys in the refugium for now :(

It depends on which ones you have, Maroons are the meanest but you can mix pairs with other ones depending on kinds ant tank size

Sorry. I may have worded that post incorectly. I only have one pair of maroon (white stripe) clowns that I'm trying to pair up with a BTA...

I have a 36x36x24 cube (135 gallons), and as soon as the orange clowns (A. ocellaris) hit the tank, the black clowns (also A. ocellaris) proceeded to beat the living crap out of them.

Lol. Love clowns. Just touched up my scaping and my maroon was the only fish not scared. He attacked my hand. I could imagine what he would've done if I were another clown.

I had a tomato clown jump airborne out of the tank to attack me once. K have tried adding more than 2 clowns on a tank multiple times with little success .... always have a backup just in case desired results don't happen

Well, the lone male from the empty corner that they were both hosting, finally left his corner to find his mate yesterday. Seems as if she has dumped him for her BTA. He came over to say hi, and tried to bond with her, and she continuously pushed him away. Guess she doesn't want anybody near her nem. Not even her mate. LOL...

I'll see if I can get him another female when I stand up my mantis tank, and move him over there with her... Poor lil' fella. These two clowns have been together for a while now, and have always stuck together through thick and thin. I go and introduce a nem for them to share, and and break up a happy home. Homewrecker. LOL...
