I have a pair of clowns that I purchased about two weeks ago (thanks Simon) that started hosting my torch as soon as I put them in the tank. Will this harm the torch? Do I need to go ahead and purchase a anemone? If so, what kind?

Not sure entirely why but my clowns took to my RBTA MUCH faster than my GBTA. Its not likely you could get them to host a condy.

Mine were hosting a torch coral and the coral kept closing. I had to move the coral and then they hosted in my clam!

My clowns used to host my torch coral, but they beat it up to the point I had to move it to a different part of the tank. They then started to host my frogspawn instead, which resulted in my frogspawn not growing new heads, but being otherwise healthy. They stick to the thing like their lives depended on it, they even sleep next to each other in it's branches. Long story short, it may or may not be able to handle it, it's a case by case thing I think.

Not a sure bet that the clowns will take the anemone as the host. They will find what ever they want as their host. SEE STACY at least I got what you were trying to say. hehehehehehe

Thank you Rich. People use the term "host" incorrectly all the time. :bash:

I know. But for the life of me I can't figure out what clown fish have to do with the holy sacrament. LOL

My clowns are currently living in and laying eggs on a wall hammer. They also like frogspawn.

It's not "typical" but it happens. If the coral doesn't tolerate it, I move the coral.
