So I have a pair of Saddleback clowns that seem to be hosting the sand bed. They don't swim far from this one spot and they both sleep together on the sand just like it was a anemone. Thought this was odd seeing how there is a nice rbta not too far away that they don't even look at. Anyone else seen this? I've heard it could be a sign they are going to lay eggs...

My clown has dug out a spot of sand in the front of my tank. I fill it in every now and then and she digs it right out again.

+1

Mine abandoned the power head a wile back for a scallop shell down in the sand , he sleeps on it , sounds to me like yours have found there spot.
Mine also ignore bta

I have a condylactis nem in my 75gal that has been in there for quite some time, and it is now hosting my male clownfish. I never would have thought a condy would host a clown, but it certainly doesn't seem to mind it all.

Mine does the same thing :)

Mine moved a couple of frags of favia into the corner of the tank and hosted on them. I recently moved the favia to another tank (where she will be moving soon as well) and she has now cleared the sand out of that corner and lies on the glass bottom.

My two clowns once they found the Anemone hosted in that fine. When I lost it, they moved onto a Torch colony. They were beating it to death so I moved them into another tank. Now they host in the sand behind the rock I have in there. They leave the Colt Coral alone that I have in there. Once I set up a cube, that will be their new home and will likely bring in another Nem for them to host in, or they may host in a Toadstool I picked up a few weeks ago (once it gets bigger I hope).

They are crazy little fish.

mine likes to knock around near by frags too :mad2:

Mine were hosting in a Xenia - but it just couldn't take the beating. I put in a big Toadstool Leather and they spend their days in and around that now. But at night they slip into the skimmer box.

They are laying on top of each other
