Ok well over the past couple weeks i have noticed this notch growing on the side of my coco worm. And out of the notch a little thing is growing bigger and bigger. Now my question is... What is it? Is it a baby coco worm forming? Or is it something else? It is very cool looking but curiosity is driving me nuts I have to know lol

Edit: And I've had aptasia it is def not that

It's looks like one of those little anemones. Like aiptasia (if I spelt that right)

No not aptasia ive had that it looks totally different than that in person

Edit: It's not clearish brown like aptasia u can kind of tell in the pic but its a bright green it looks really cool!

Look up Glass Anemone, they're just like any other anemone in that they come in different colors.

+1

It almost looks like it part of the coco worm...

It's def part of the coco worm and not a type of aptasia. Ive had aptasia it just looks like a flower with stringy tentacles but this thing has little balls on the end like a torch it's really cool looking. The tentacles are green and the balls on the end are white and whenever the coco worm retracts it does too.

Level that is exactly what it looks like but its part of the coco worm bc it retracts just like it with any bump against the tank it's very weird. I wish all of u could see it in person that would def help!

That is a picture of a glass anemone Maybe Doflenia sp but I can not be sure from the picture. Leave him be, he is pretty harmless and non-envasive.

It is likely retracting due to the movement of the worm when it retracts

the fact that it looks like its part of the coco worm worries me because its clearly a nem of some sort. it may have burrowed into the shell somehow or something

A nem has no way of "burrowing" into a shell of a coco worm.

I take back my original ID and am going to stick with Pseudocorynactis as my final answer. No need to phone a friend. (I still reserve the right for it to be Corallimorpharian/Caryophylliid when a better pic is taken) Still harmless and a point of interest in the tank.

ok you are probably right in that they have no way to burrow. but i would like to know how it got in that position.

Looks like cup coral, I had found something similar growing on some maricultured live rock.
