colored plastic wrap

Im thinking of wrapping my skimmer with colored plastic wrap to keep algae from growing in it.

Any comments??

OK, so you have a HOB skimmer? Yes, as long as it sits above water, you can tape it with anything....

its an intank skimmer. Would like something that I can put in the water witout harming the corals

Painting it is a great idea (although it's nearly impossible to get paint off of acrylic). I doubt that colored plastic wrap would block enough light to prevent algae growth.

Paint it...

I wrapped my calcium reactor & extra media chamber as well as all clear plastic lines in aluminum foil to keep the algae out/down. On the reactor, I left a strip so I can see the media...

Thanks, the Krylon is a great idea. I didnt know there was a spray paint that wasnt toxic.
