controllers

haha. That would be sweet. Man I need to sell some houses.

I vote Apex. It's incredible what this thing is capable of.

I don't dose Calcium or anything for that matter so I probably won't need PH. I guess Temp and Salinity would be all I needed.

I would suggest that you dose some calcium/alk at least a little almost everything in our aquariums uses it for structure.

I have the Apex and love it. For $500 you can get the last controller you will ever need with everything you need to get started.

8 outlets expandable to 1200+ outlets
2 probe ports for pH or ORP expandable to 100s of ports
1 pH probe
1 temp port and probe
Built in Ethernet and web site for programming, remote monitoring and control, email alerts.
Graphing display pad (can add more display pads if needed)
4 variable speed ports for controlling Tunze Streams pumps and variable ballasts.
AWESOME support from Neptune and a very active user group on RC.

If you only want a single pH port and don't want the variable speed ports (these can be added later if you change your mind) you can start with the Apex Lite for $370 + $35 or so for a pH probe.

The RKE has an iphone app as well, its free -

Hmmm... I'll look into it. I wasn't going to do this until my tank was mature enough to keep clams. I don't have any SPS atm.

APEX FTW!!

I've got my eye on the new salinity module, but really wish they would have set that up with an additional PH/ORP probe instead of an additional temperature probe..

in all seriousness, get more plugs than you think you'll want to control..
you'll end up wanting to control MORE.. lol..

I went with RKE because I heard it was easier to program simple functions. Piecing a system together to match the specs of the RKE plus system with the SL2 instead of the SL1 is only $10 extra. DA also had a better design than the Apex, and I like the separate 4 channel power strips rather than an integrated 8 input unit, its better for 'wall wart' plugs
