I was in Orlando this week and discovered my office was right near WWC so of course I had to go. Knowing I’d be back I wanted to see how tough it might be to fly home with corals in my carryon. They assured me no problem.

Skeptical I bought a bunch of not great under their lights looking 2 for $5 frags and a carry case for the purpose plus two large $10 birds nest corals. Only one of them fit in the case and the other needed to be bagged. Good test scenarios.

They gave me extra bags in case that needed to be opened.

Well TSA knew exactly what they were handling and didn’t need to open the case and the bag, visual inspection and on my way.

Now I’m home the corals are clearly not of the $20 variety but … they are worth every penny of $2.50 and easily three times as much. I would have paid $7.50 for each of them and thought that was a steel!! They’re great under my lights - I’m excited. Apparently these frags are simply the off-cuts and shaded pieces.

So I’m looking forward to returning with my new TSA accepted carry case. Thought I’d share my experience of any of you get down there and maybe we can work a club group buy at some future point.

Orlando airport was also just as happy with a plastic bag. This bad boy was bagged:
