A running joke at a lfs I worked for was calling them doo doo browns bc they were green at the store and will turn brown with high trates or low light so many customers would come in and say they look like **** compared to when they bought them. I couldn't get mine green til I went from ok t5s to an awesome mh fixture/bulb I have since gotten rid of them bc they are very.... Hardy

Is there a recommended method to turn them back green?

More intense lighting and improved water quality were what seemed to work
