I have two tanks one has both fish and coral, and the other is a coral only tank. I was wondering what are the advantages and/or disadvantages in having a coral only tank? The only thing I have noticed so far is that my zoas seem to grow much more rapidly in the coral only tank.

The water quality would be alot better in the coral only tank because of the lack of fish waste, but I believe all coral still needs a little poo. Softies and lps would create a little for you in the tank though

I think I would target feed in a coral only tank, since you don't have extra fish food (and poop) wafting around for the corals to snag.

+1 and freeze dried cyclopeeze in bulk is cheap

"Coral only" tank can define a multitude of setups. Type of corals vary so much and the needs of each .

I wasn't very clear there. The only corals I have in this tank are zoas and shrooms. They seem to be the easiest to keep happy and spread rapidly.
