DSLR's are for those who want to make photography into a hobby....that's very different than the casual family reunion picture taker. It's a very expensive hobby...and very addicting! I was always into photography as a youngster and it's carried over more as I age. I started off with a true entry level dslr....a Canon xt with the stock 18-55mm lens. I eventually went to buy the 55-250 IS zoom lens. The XT was an amazing camera and did what I needed it to do at that time. Same goes with that zoom lens. As I started doing more with my photography (work and personal) I started to get into situations of taking pics in low light....the XT could not suffice for such low light...even if I had a higher priced lens. I now have a pro-series camera and L series glass to help with the lower light. I personally believe in only 2 companies when it comes to dslr's...that's Canon and Nikon. They have been making cameras/lenses since day 1, and are the top leaders in digital photography. Both companies have very similar products. Nikon's prices are about 15-20% more than Canon. Does this make them better...depends on who you ask, lol. They both have "entry and pro level" lenses....a BIG price difference. Wow...I'm blabbing. Ok, I'm done for now.
Thanks for the input. I have a Nikon pas and my dad has a Canon pas, and his camera is taking better pic than mine (well....his is 2 years newer)
