Well, since I got my coral package taken care of, now I have a new question.Like I have said in a few posts before, I have been out of the hobby a while.

Currently, I am only running carbon and Chemi-Pure Elite in my tank. No dosing or supplementation as of yet. What are some of the supplements that everyone has used with success to keep up the health and growth of corals.

Liquid/powder type products would be what I have to use as I have no reactors or any dosing pumps.

Thanks for your help everyone.

Depends on corals and salt you use...

SPS, just dose 2 part from brs, add mag as needed and use GFO and ROX carbon and change out every 10 to 14 days...no food needed..

If you have non photo stuff...that's a different answer..

Anyone got a link to BRS stuff? Kind of lost on that...

The corals are mostly softies, zoas, lps. Easy encrusting montis and a monti cap. One Bali Acropora.

AHH Bulk Reef Supply... I knew that, jeez.

So everyone is pretty much on board with the BRS system, nothing from Brightwell or anything like that for color, health, etc?

Lol....removal of nutrients, both phosphate and nitrate, high par lighting like 400 watt Radiums...and vodka dosing along with skimming...

No, magic to add colors, they will do it under the correct conditions, lol..

I wasn't thinking about magic potions or anything. Just wondering if adding things like amino and trace minerals would be benefical.

I would love to see what my par is getting out of this light. My tank is only 24''wide with 16.5'' depth, running a 54w JBJ Unbody led.

I do weekly 15-20% water changes to remove phosphates. I can't find a skimmer that is worthy enough to buy to fit in my tank. The new Hydor seems promising, so I may try that out.

I was just trying to be as effective in the coral keeping process as I could with the limited resources I have (no reactors, or dosing equipment).

Has anyone used Seachem Reef Fusion 2 part system?

Is it the same basic components of BRS 2 part?

I will just be near a store that carries the Seachem, then I could move on to the BRS later down the road.
