Coral ??

I bought this Dead Elegance coral with some green polyps on it. But after I put this in my tank there is a new growth on it, is he elegance coming back?

cant see it real good... is it the brownish stuff near middle?

Had it happen to me with a bubble coral. I bought a some xenia on a skeleton(rubble). After I but it in quarantine I saw some fluorescence under the actinics. I moved the xenia off and there was something small. Once in the DT it was big enough to ID . That was three months ago. Sometime there can be more then on colony (at least with the bubble and some disc corals) that comes back. If never tried to frag one though, then again I don't have a bandsaw.

I bought some zoas on a dead candy cane skeleton then a week later I saw the tissue of the candy cane coming back

Yes, it has what looks like some polyp extension to it. My camera is just my phone so it sucks. It is more green, but it look brown in the picture.
