Feeding my new Damsels today and having a look across the rock to do a head count on the crabs and i noticed this on my rock.

Any Ideas??

Does it move? Looks to me like a sponge of some sort, but if it's not stationary, I'm not sure.

I'd be surprised if those are mushrooms, personally. They really look more like a tunicate or a sponge of some sort, especially since he doesn't have his lights set up yet.
 
It looks like Coralline to me. Have you touched it? Is it hard and crusty, or soft and mushy?

If it's hard, it's likely Coralline algae. If it's soft and squishy, it could be mushrooms.

Just went an touched it an it is Hard.

Red Coraline algae is good right?
 
Yes, absolutely. It will spread and hopefully, eventually all of your rock and back glass etc., will be covered in it.
