Wattage is your benchmark for leds, efficiency matters, but if the wattage isnt there, efficiency wont make up for it. For example, aqualumination, a well regarded led fixture of considerable cost, uses 24 3w leds per foot, and they are high efficiency. But your talking 75watts per foot, compared to 8watts.
