Can anyone help me ID this crab? It is living on my acro but I am not sure if he is the good, the bad or just ugly! This was the best picture I could get.

It does appear to be hairy, and has black claws, one larger then the other. Thanks for the response Heath!

you'll have to take the acro out and chase him around with a pair of tweezers, you'll get him. it looks like you're coral is being eaten by him. there's white at the base and there's white around him.
the white around the base I suspect is something else, but it's hard to tell.

Thanks 1m......Somehow I didn't think this was going to be good but wanted to check before I just got rid of it.

Edit: Thanks so much for the help. Looks like I'm going crab hunting tomorrow.

there are many crabs that live in acro's that are good, too!
such as....
and a tan with tan and dark claw....

however, if hairy...no good as already stated....

Thanks for the info Ralph, I was hoping he was one of the good guys. Going to try and catch him today.

Caught the little bugger this morning with the tweezers, Heath you were right it wasn't too much trouble, I think he was stunned! Thanks again all for the help.

may I suggest getting a low range alkalinity test kit and test everyday at the same time for a whole week straight.
make sure that number is stable and in range.
