Well, I just switched sumps and I was cleaning out this old one and I accidentally dropped it and now it has a small crack:doh: . I was wondering if I can repair it? There is no acrylic missing, and it only drips out of the crack. :boo: Is there anything I can do? I am going to try to use it as a Refugium if I can fix it. Thanks!

I saw the pic of your old sump and its acrylic... Very easy to fix. You just need some weld-on. I've got some and some spare scrap acrylic if you want to put a patch on it.

More than likely you can. Just drizzle the stuff on the crack and then after its cured, throw some water in there and see if it leaks. Since its so small its not going to have a lot of pressure there and is unlikely to bust a seam. So long as it doesn't leak it should be just fine.

If that doesn't work, you can still "patch" it with shredded acrylic paste made with weld-on mixed with acrylic shavings. It creates a goo that you can just mold into the corner and let it set.

Yeha I am not really worried about a floor of fuge its in our furnace room. Where can I get weld on? Home Depot?

Use Weld-on 16, it is thicker and will set up a crack better than the thinner weld-on products. It also dries a little slower, so it is easier to handle.

Some LFS carry it, but they jack up the price. I bought it from a place on Oakbrook Parkway in Norcross, but I can't remember the name...it's driving me crazy :jester:

Go to http://www.mcmaster.com/">http://www.mcmaster.com/</a>...

Search for weld on 16..Its 3 bucks and some change a tube. Call ahead and order and pick it up. It is located near Six Flags...I used both teh Weld On 4 and Weld on 16...I like both, but for small repair the small tube of #16 is better at dispensing, because the Weld On 4 requires.
