I came home today to see one of my female flame wrasse stuck in a breeding container that I was keeping my nem in before I fragged it. Not only was the wrasse stung several times by the nem, my onyx clowns that are in there with it beat the crap out of it. SUX. I got the wrasse out, but I think it's too little too late. She's on the bottom behind some rocks breathing VERY rapidly. I'm hoping for the best....

Dam, hope she makes it. I would definitely isolate her and keep her as unstressed as possible

a fish showing weakness will usually take another beating from somebody else. even a crab will take advantage of that situation.

I think moving her at this point would be more stressful. She's been sitting under a rock and nothing is bothering her.

Sorry to hear about your wrasse. We had a seahorse tank disaster today and within an hour or two we lost 1-1week old, 1-4week old and 3- 8week old baby dwarf ponies. Problem was corrected and the 3 adult ponies made it and so did the rest of the seahorses.

Best thing to do by leaving her there. Let her get calm overnight in the dark and spray some mysis around her rock in the morning while you are feeding the other fish. Hope she pulls threw

I wouldnt dig the grave just yet. Wrasses are nutty fish. When stressed, playing dead seems to be their MO. Until they pop back, good as new. How many times have people assumed their wrasse was dead because it was buried in the sand for days, or hasnt been seen at all, and then shows up good as new. Feed heavily to be sure she has a shot at getting her share and leave her be.
