HI,

I recently bought 75lbs of dry fuji rock from marinedepot but need a faster way to cure this stuff so it doesn't leech. Has anybody tried Bleaching dry rock for 2 weeks then soaking rock in commercial phosphate remover for a couple of days before curing?

BRS did a study on the best methods...Bleaching looks like a Go but I haven't try this before so I'm alittle worried about screwing something up.

Can't screw up with bleach unless you don't rinse it very well.

If the figi has any dead materials on it bleaching and acid washing will help but it will still take 6 to 8 weeks of curing to get a good bit on the phosphates out of it.

Personally I'd only bleach it if you want it really white. I'd just put it in some heated circulating sw for a few weeks without anything added. I've done it a couple of times now and have seen no ill effect doing it in the tank I intend to display it in.
