Anyone locally carry the 10K white POWER module? I am able to get the link version, but need the powered one. I'm going to see if these will give me any shimmer in my 120. I don't want anyone to special order them in case I end up not liking them.

Not the PowerBrite but I do have the Ecoxotic Stunners & Power Supplies. I have an 8K white module in stock.

Edit: I can get you the PowerBrite if you want one - would be here Wednesday.

I needed a few bulbs anyway, so I stopped by to see Tim. He had what I needed to check on how it would look and was even nice enough to open one up and put it on one of his tanks with T5s. Grassy a$$, Tim!

FWIW- the Powerbrite's are rated at 4 watts of light (4 x 1 Watt LED's), the Ecoxotic Stunner is rated at 6 watts of light (24 x 1/4 Watt LED's). Thats a 50% increase!

Ah yes, but my understanding is that point source light is was gives shimmer. Therefore, you're better off with brighter individual lights than more overall wattage. This is why a 150 halide can give shimmer, but several hundred watts of T5 won't do it.

Also, I tried the PowerBrite as soon as I got home. Wow, those suckers are bright! Gave me shimmer right away. HOWEVER, I then swapped out a few bulbs to go a little more blue and the shimmer vanished with it. I guess you can't match the overall color of the LEDs with your main light source because you'll drown them out? May have to drop one of the Actinic+ and go back to a 10K.
