One of the sumps posted for sale recently gave me an idea of a way to modify my recently installed sump. I'd like to add a small piece of acrylic (approx. 14" x 8") to act as a filter sock holder for two 4" socks.

This is probably a really small job for anyone with the interest, experience, and tools to get it done....none of which I have. Also, I don't have any acrylic.

The local hardware store has previously cut acrylic for me, but they burned down and no longer have the capability. Not kidding...huge loss to the community.

Any of the sponsors do this kind of work? Anyone else you can recommend?

Thanks,
Brian

You can cut acrylic with a table saw with a formica blade and use a hole saw to cut the holes. Just make sure you keep your blade cool so that it does not melt the acrylic.

Your right around the corner and I still think I have a piece of 1/4" acrylic left. If you can swing by tomorrow afternoon with some measurements I think we could get it taken care off. I'm right at lawerncville hwy and Montreal. I should be free after 3-4pm. Let me know and ill grab my tablesaw and hole bits

Thanks for the offer! However, I won't be around tomorrow afternoon, and Sunday's looking pretty tight as well. Got your PM. If nothing else, I'll contact you just to swing by and check out your setup. Always good to meet fellow hobbyists, especially one's that are so close.

Edit:
