Anyone know of a member or someone else that builds custom tanks? Im wanting to upgrade from the BC29 soon and im in the market for something custom(not big, maybe 80gal at most)

any reason you're looking for a custom built tank? do you have a particular shape in mind or a certain size that's not available readily?

yeah, the height and width of the tanks is where i have some desires to change from the options that are available. there are a couple mass produced models i like but seems like most are made in china and i'd rather buy local if possible. i like the deep blue edge 57 and the reef octopus t90. the dimensions im looking at is between 36-48" long X 22" W X 22" H. there are also a few things i have in mind for the returns/overflow.

ahh ok just wondering. if you're a diy kinda guy you could make an acrylic tank yourself its not too hard to solvent weld acrylic but i would recommend watching tap plastics toutorial videos on welding acrylic and practicing with some small pieces a couple times before you start welding a tank together.
heres a link to the video if youre interested. <div class="gc_ifarem_title">How to glue Acrylic - YouTube</div>

I was thinking of doing that. But the prices on Glasscages made it seem like it wouldnt save me that much.

as far as your dimensions go... a 48x24x24 is a standard 120. VERY close to 22x22 that you stated....

IF YOU CONSIDER glass cages I WOULD suggest NOT HAVING THEM DO ACRYLIC. Their glass tanks are ok tanks especially for the money, but I don't know a satisfied acrylic customer.

If you want acrylic, which I would advise against knowing what I know now, I would buy from MRC. They will do external overflow standard 120 for around $800 I THINK..(or at least that is what mine cost when I purchased from them) PLUS you'd get an ARC discount I believe.

I'm leaning more towards glass with star fire on the 3 viewing panes.its amazing to think it's only silicone that keeps the tank together. I guess I should look at glass shops in town.
