I have to give props to Hydor. I recently bought a Hydor 750 (I have the 425's). I arrived home one day and was like...wth is that black chunk laying in the sand. Pulled it out and thought "huh, maybe the girls tossed something in the tank!":o
Later, during a feeding, I noticed it was from the Hydor. It was still running so figured, ehh, no biggie. Well, lately I noticed I wasn't getting the movement that I was getting "current" wise. Noticed stuff was getting sucked into this PH, instead of blowing out. Well...okay...it's worth a Google. Okay, figured that out. I literally just emailed Hydor about 30mins ago. I already received an email asking for my address so they can ship me out a new Front Cover and Bumper.
NOW that my friends is a quick response. NO way did I expect to hear something back this fast, and with a resolution.
Now, if I could only get Digital Aquatics to reply to issues that quick. I swear, if I had the Financial Backing...I would buy that company and turn it around! Not a bad product, just little to no support, and not much in the way of brainstorming new ideas to improve it.

Anyway, Kudo's to Hydor...that is all! Back to your regular programmed station.

I have 2 evolution 1400's on a smartwave pump in my 92 corner. Exact same thing happened to each of them twice over the past year. Each time hydor got back to me quickly and shipped replacements out free of charge. This last time they sent a couple extra. Great customer service. I wish they would revamp the design to eliminate the problem but at least they acknowledge it and provide replacements for life no questions asked. Their service helped convince me to buy a performer series protein skimmer from them and I love it.

Approximately, 10mins after posting this thread, and after I replied to their initial email which asked for a shipping address. I received a follow up email from Hydor stating "thanks for the info, we will have a new Front Cover and Bumper out to you by the beginning of the week."

One of the hydor PH that I had long ago would suck instead of blows ;) I tough it wasn't a biggie since I purchased low price brand new, but still thinking on getting vortech pumps again for my tank, some day.

They'll do that to me on occasion when the power goes out. I just replug them and they work fine.

I read there is a new type of bushing in that plastic plate. If that Bushing slides down, or the Rubber Bumper falls off, it supposedly causes the PH to run backwards. Also, if the Magnet becomes cracked, it will do the same thing.

I hear ya on the Vortech, however, until they come down in price...I won't have any in my tank. I do have a couple of the Jaebo that I'm looking forward to trying.

Yes, it happens when a power outage occurs, I had to reset them unplugging it, mine were pretty new but after I saw the water movement different than normal I noticed. Well all I have hear and watch on YouTube about jebao pumps are wonders! But I would not compare the CS from Hydor to a overseas manufacture, still yet powerful and cheap, and now if I'm not mistaken they're fully programmable and variable speed, great difference on the wallet punch comparing :)

Yeah no expectations on Jeabo CS. :D

If Hydor has a variable speed version, I will need to look into that.

Sorry, I was talking about the Jebao pump, tough jebao comes with the programmable function and variable speed :D
I don't think Hydor would take long to upgrade units and make more competitive market.

Oh, got ya. Yeah I have the WP40/60 (which ever it was), and the 25. Haven't tried the bigger one as I bought it for my 135 once I get it up. The 25 is for my current setup.
Yeah I would think Hydor would jump on the opportunity to come out with their own design. Perhaps they are, but just waiting on everyone to come out with theirs, then see what they need to do differently/better. We can hope.

Hydor has a 12 volt controllable pump. I'm not sure if they are as versatile as the others though.
