Cut a hole in canopy top for easy feeding?

This canopy is only about 6" or so above the water line, so I don't think a pipe is necessary. I'm thinking a plastic cord hole grommet (like you see on computer desks) and a coverplate is all we'll need.

now thats simple......

I plan on using it for primarily pellet feeding while I am away anyway

This is an excellent idea. Wish I had thought of it a few years ago!

Well, its done - Dustin came by and cut the hole for the feeding tube. we slipped a 3/4" bulkhead (because i had a spare) in the hole and it works like a champ. He also delivered a sweet door he just built for me for my 25 gal eclipse stand

Glad you like it! Looking back, I wish I would have taken detailed pictures of the raised panel door construction process. I'd like to post a "How To Build Cabinet Doors" thread to the forums, since so many DIY'ers here build their own stands and whatnot. Doors are one of those things that look very intimidating to build, but are actually very easy if you have a router table. I'll definitely make a thread next time!

My thread could be called "How to Build A Cabinet Door In A Weekend" and Grouper's could be called "How to Build 100 Cabinet Doors In A Day." :) Grouper is darn good at what he does.
