Welp got a new tank and have been diligently working removing some coraline algae and other undesirables. In the process of scraping an scrubbing and rearranging rock I scrape my forearm no biggie I just keep working. 12 hrs later I'm in the ER. Who knew l, this is a first for me and Ive been doing this nearly 15 years. Now I have an immovable arm and excruciating pain Sweet! Not to mention Im not allowed to mess with my tanks until its 100% healed... Happy Valentines Day to me lol. For the sake of all Ill withhold the pictures.

Wow, that's a bummer! I hope you heal quickly. When I set up my first tank, after handling the rock, the skin on the backs of my hands started cracking and bleeding, but nothing near as bad as what happened with you. Now I always use heavy rubber gloves when handling rock and latex ones if I'm doing anything else.

Ouch! That does not look like fun!

See, if you had bought my tank all the algae was already scraped off and that wouldn't have happened. Just kidding. Hope you feel better soon.

So sorry to hear,
that's far worse than I have ever seen!

But here a question to our medical staff; the red line - is it really heading towards the heart, or just the torso in general?
I always did this off as a fairy tale - after all the streak is a topical infection, not sure why it would seek the heart...?!

Yeah no idea everyone at the hospital kept saying that though if gets any closer to your heart comeback to the ER. Scare tactics perhaps? No idea

Did they diagnose what is happening there? That's worse than anything I've ever seen either. Hope they get you fixed up fast - that looks painful.

They had no idea very quock moving infection. Did a couple blood cultures and I should find out tomorrow or friday what they have found out and what specific antibiotic I will have to take. It looks almost the same as it did yesterday and hurts like h*ll!

Holy cow! Better you than me.... Was the tank super nasty?? I've worked on a bunch o tanks and had quite a few injuries, but nothing like that. I hope you get better. Good luck!

Too late now, but have you seen the muriatic acid method of stripping rocks? It's need extreme caution too, but could have kept you out of the ER. I hope you get better soon. That looks pretty rough.
