I don't think the list price is really over $900. At the Digital Aquatics store, it is also $499.99. So, I would call the list(msrp) $499.99.
Maybe I am missing something, but that seems a little misleading.

I almost ordered direct from DA but shipping was a lot cheaper at marine depot. Yeah its misleading but I think the 499 is totally worth it in the long run.

I am really happy with it but being fairly new to the hobby I have not had any other experience with the other controllers available. It does a great job controlling all of the pumps, protein skimmer, lights, etc and monitors PH, salinity, and temp very well.
The one negative, and it is a huge negative in my opinion is that the software for editing preset commands is non existent. For example, the controller comes with 4 preset outlets, PC1 - PC4 which you plug your devices into such as skimmer, lights, etc.. Then you program PC1 - PC4 to act in the manner and time frame you wish. Works great, but everytime you want to scroll through the display or make a change, or better yet, if you had someone come over your house to adjust something for you when you were not home, they would not know which device was connected to which outlet, since the display only shows "Pc1, Pc2, Pc3, Pc4" You personally can memorize which outlet you have your lights on, etc, but it can get confusing and seems like it would have been such a simple software addition to allow users to be able to modify names on the screen to say, "lights, protein skimmer, main pump, etc" I hope this makes sense.
I have two of the power strip controllers on my setup so I have two PC4 outputs meaning a total of 8 devices of which none can be identified without prior knowledge when looking at the LCD screen.
But other than that, the system is great. Then again, maybe someone has found a firmware fix or something that could correct this. Let me know if you have.
