After at least 5 months of attempted reading, learning, and spending money on things I no longer need, I am pleased to be able to start this build thread.

I initially bought a 75 and stand from a freshwater fish keeper, thinking I could go with an overflow box instead of drilling the tank. That was all fine and dandy, except the stand was a good bit short, and any sump/skimmer/etc would really have to be either very small or located outside the stand.

So then I thought about building a stand. In my "spare time". Ha! That effort lasted about a month before I finally saw Kyle "ksicard" selling a RR 75 gallon tank. I managed to pick up the tank, stand, canopy, and sump and am eager to get this project rolling!

Here's how things look at the moment:

The old tank & short stand:

The new tank, stand, canopy, and sump:

That's essentially where we are at the moment. I mean, I kinda gave everything a wipe down with vinegar and water and rinsed the tanks out with the hose. My next task is to paint the tank and sides a nice calming sea-blue.

Thanks for reading and offering any advice!

Don't know where you plan on setting your tank up but I know I personally really enjoy viewing the tank down the sides

But good luck! I will be following as I have the same size tank

Thank you - the old tank is also a 75 gallon tank. I was thinking of using the 29 gallon sump that came with the purchase.
