I am looking to add some different CUC to my tank with the main priority of detritus. I was looking at nassarius snails and maybe a tiger tail cucumber.

Will these do ok in a 1.5-2" sandbed (hawaiian black)?

I bought some snails off Ebay there cheap and eat any left over food. And at night roam all over., if you come by columbus I'll give you a bunch for free.

Love both my Tiger Tail Cucumber and the Nassarius Snails. :-) They should do fine in 1-1/2" to 2" sand bed.

I too like my tiger tail cucumbers, all four of them, they keep splitting. I also have a large serpent star that does a good job of keeping things clean. If you are ever in Dallas I'll hook you up with a cucumber.

Nassarius snails all the way. Add a Fighting conch too for good flair =)

So, How many conchs should I go with in a 100 gal tank? I know nothing about them. I am also planning on getting rid of my friggin scarlet crabs. Those things are ruthless on snails. What would be a good replacement for crabs? A few shrimp?

I have red-leg & blue leg hermits in my tank. Probably 25 or so right now and always have had them. They do hijack a snail here & there, but it's not that bad. Emeralds are little buggers though.

Your CUC depends on your inhabitants, age & feeding. You could do fine with anywhere from 20 snails to 50+. Start with 20 and a fighting conch and see where it goes.

I never got one because I have "heard" they can eat a wrasse that is sleeping in sand.......
So, NO! Not for me.
