Hey guys well I bought a diamond goby the other day and well as soon as he got in the tank this fish that I have (red spotted lizard fish) started to pick on him well I was wondering if there is any chance he could still be alive I mean he swam to the rocks in my tank and I haven't seen him for two days is he dead or alive ?

Post a pic cus I'm curious now. Your goby is prob just chillin in the rocks. If you think it died in there watch out for an ammonia spike

Is the tank covered? They have a tendancy to jump, especially if being picked on.

I think the fish he is referring to is the red spotted sand perch. They can be territorial to other sand fish.

Okay yea they look the same and no but searched and there is no fish anywhere

He's probably still alive...I bought a goby once and didn't see him for the first two weeks he was in the tank.

I would wait it out, worst thing you can do is go looking for him. Although I would keep an eagle eye out all the way around your tank and in your overflows if you've got them, they love jumping.

Yeah if you haven't found him on the carpet or in the overflow/sump he probably just found him a spot under your rock to chill out, I had one for 3 days, didn't seem stressed out and found him on the carpet on the 3rd morning. It was sad since I had 1/4" netting clamped to the top but he found a way out anyways.

Wow that sucks and thanks for the help il just see what happens

He's hiding, and that's normal. Especially is he is getting bullied. And as mentioned earlier watch for ammonia spikes. Other than that, how is your algae problem coming along? Hopefully you got it under control!

Okay no spike yet lol and the algae is completely gone no algae what so ever thank god lol

I just added one last week, and in about two days, he very cautiously came out. I have a shallow rimless but it's a totally not aggressive tank so he seems to not want to jump. Now he is openly hanging out, eating mysis.

He is missing no where to bee seen at all and now I lost a chromis somewhere

I have two fish jump out of my tank(75 gal.)although it has been on two separate occasions. Both have been when I was out of town. While I have your attention does anyone have any plants or algie that is over growing that you may want to trim back. I could really use some in my refugium. Thank You. I live in Powder Springs,Ga.

Did my think of that lol I hAve two cats ha
