Ok....I've seen this type of grease posted for use in pumps. What is it and where does one get it?

you can get dielectric grease at auto parts store its a nonconductive grease

I would try to get the clear though they make some brown stuff that I didnt like at all. We've got some really good stuff at Chevrolet if you wanna stop by there.

theres two types. there one that comes out like tooth paste.
the other is more of a cream looking, kind of thin.
that thin crap sucks. go for the tooth paste type.
might go ahead and make that trip to chevy if that offer stands and its the right type.

I was just wondering what it was. The makers of the SeaSwirl use it inside their units so I figured maybe it either had electric-proof or waterproof qualities. I guess I'm kinda right on both accounts. I just had to rebuild a SeaSwirl so I'll try to find some or something else to take it's place.

It's a silicone based grease that you can use to keep anything that is in contact with the water collumn lubricated (gaskets, seals, motors, etc) in place of petroleum based lubes that should never be used anywhere near water. The permatex brand sold at your local autoparts store in tiny metal toothpaste tubes works great.
