I would just dose the tank as directed , iv never had a fish injured like that , none of my guys are equipped with the kind of hard ware needed to take chunks.
When my wild caught German blue rams first came home the female got ich the male kept picking the spots off of her so he got it as well that's the only time I used melafix or primafix , I used them together.
They have tea tree oil in them which can be therapeutic for healing fish but will kill labyrinth breathing fish like gar , Betta , gourami ets
Iv never had a sick fish that required treatment of antibiotics , I hope your Oscar pulls through
