Help, I can not unscrew the black nut on the i/o union assembly. Someone??? must have ddid more than hand tighten it last time. Have tried WD 40, hot water drip, Hot hair dryer nothing will budge it. Thanks in advance, Bubba

Borrow or go to Lowes/Home Depot and get yourself a strap wrench. Uses a heavy duty rubber strap and plastic handle to go around pipes. That should work for you. I have one and love it. Great for turning plastic fittings without marring the pipe.

+1 to strap wrench
You can also get strap wrenches at some auto parts stores if one is closer than a home improvement store.

+2 on the strap wrench

Fwiw-
My local Tractor Supply has strap wrench sets on liquidation sale for $2.99 right now. I bought one last weekend, just because it was so cheap.

+1 on the strap wrench. I have also used a leather belt in a pinch

Works good on oil filters too. Most times a belt works better than an oil filter wrench.

Especially on front wheel drive cars that the manufacturer decided to put the filter on the side of the engine next to the firewall

Slipping a paper towel or rag between an oil filter wrench and filter has always worked for me.

The 'cup' designs that fit over the end of the filters never fail me.

The real trick us to not over tighten them in the first place.
