Distance between LED and tank

With LEDs, the closer the light the better the par. I would say around 6-8"

I would start a little higher, you don't want to fry anything. I'm starting with my par38 14" above the tank and will move it closer

I have a 120 watt LED over my biocube, I have had it for a couple weeks now at 12in above the water. I plan on lowering it down to 6in as soon as I get the wires to lower it.

Thanks for the reply guys-I will start at 12inches, and work my way down to be on the safe side.

db366-I saw the thread with the picture of your biocube in the member tank forum. Looks great! It's exactly how my setup is anticipating to look right now. Can you let me know where to get the material/how you set up the mesh on top so that the fish don't jump out? I have to ditch my cover as well with the new LED light coming in...

Home depot, it's in the section with the drop tiles for ceilings. I used a hot knife to cut it so that it fit inside the curve of the tank.
