Diving classes

Any one know of a good place to get certified in or around Atl. I went to one place today that said it would be around 800 for all of it. that seemed high to me?

man when i was in maui they said 1200 for my dad.

That depends on what equipment is included if any. Go to marietta divers supply and talk to Jack.

the 800 was just the class and open water dive. I would still have to have my own fins mask and snorkel. I can not even rent the stuff from them It is 40 to rent tanks and regulators for the check out dive.

that seems real high--I got certified for 450--but that was in Rome

buying some of the gear up front is not that big a deal if I had to I have done all of my class and closed water classes be for but did not get around to my open water in time so now I have to do it all over again. I know I will like it I it was just the 800 plus he said that it would be around 200 for mask snorkel fins and what not, but after looking around I think I could get them much cheaper.

ericmcj41 where in rome did you get yours done. I have some friends that live up that way so If it is that much cheaper it could be an possible.

It was diver's salvage--they're on Shorter Ave.; I'm sure they're in the phone book-they're a real small mom-and pop operation, but teach classes several times per year-generally do open water cert. in the springs close to PCB. The class is like 105-and the dive is like 325 something like that-that was 2 years ago, and they may have gone up some, but I wouldn't think much--a word of advice, get your gear somewhere else, they are kinda pricey-

Just looked the #, (706) 295-DIVE (3483); Barry runs the shop, you may have to leave a message-since they are closed a good bit for winter-Shawn is the owner-like I said, small operation, but they were pretty good instructors. Hope this helps

Honestly, if you get ALL your equipment, you could be spending well over 2K for everything--(and if you get it new); that was the mistake I made, my advice-find someone who is getting out of the hobby (don't have time to dive, etc.) and you can find the stuff for less than half of what it retails for. That is, if you don't mind not having the "latest" stuff and all that (which if you buy the hottest thing, next year something else will just come out and you won't have the hottest thin g then anyways). That's my advice-

yeah, snorkeling is nice, but diving is GREAT!! Believe me!
