I will be building an ATO this evening. I have one question.

I want to make the resevoir big enough to last 4-5 days. By my best guess, I need 10-12 gallons. Is five days too long to let the RO/DI water sit stagnant? Should I add an airstone?

Thanks!

John

Having the water just sit around isnt a good idea, you need to add some sort of agitation. Get a small pump or air pump and air stone and put it in there. That will help keep the water moving.

It's pure water. It's shelf life should be able to exceed that time limit

Not really an issue with RO water. Plus the fact that a typical ATO "cycle" adds what, a few cups of water?
