After listening to the wife moan and groan about how messy my fish corner looked I decided to build a stand for the corner. I got some reclaimed particle board from her work that used to be shelves and measured 30"*46.5". I'll be using 1gallon containers made by Mainstays from Walmart for DIY Calcium, Alkalinity and Magnesium. I took measurements of what I needed and just started designing in my head before putting it on paper. The particle board is 5/8" thick but I thought it was 3/4".... measure twice....then do your math, lol.
The height of the 2nd shelf allows for room to mount Reef Angel dosers and ATO pump if I don't get a DP4 dosing unit. I'm still not finished yet as I have one more door to make...
All you see here was made with Kreg jigs..... Pocket hole jig, shelf pin jig, hinge jig and cutting was done with the rip guide. Somewhere down the road I'll dish out the $55 for a full sheet of 3/4" Oak and do a step by step on buildsomething.com.
