I'm looking to build my own sump shortly (hopefully there will be a $1/gal sale soon) and had a few questions. I'm thinking of using a 20 long, 30x12x12. The main reason is I want to eliminate my 5g jug from under my tank and I want to have a "built in" rodi holding portion of the sump. Is this a good idea or am I asking for trouble?

imo i would keep your fresh top off separated .. not sure why.. just feels risky

I have seen it done before and it was fine. I would feel more secure with it separated also.

I used a 40b and have my RO reservoir built in. I like it. Saves me time and energy.

Edit: wrong picture... But on right side of sump is an "almost" 6g reservoir
