I came home tonight to my file fish eating my purple hornets:mad2: wasn't too happy but but was happy that at least it was a freebie from a member so i didn't loose anything but my time on that, but then a few minutes later I see red particle floating around the tank and realized he has decided to partake upon my favorite rainbow acans's GGGRRRRRR..

I at this point moved all my corals I could that were not attached to rock made sure they were pest free and transferred em over to my broodstock.

I know there was a risk when I got him that he may decide to eat coral but i was like why not eat some of my cheap stuff that i have more than I know what to do with.

He ate all of the baby aptasia and even some of the middle sized ones. but he isn't eating the big ones. Is size a issue with the aptasia with these? do I need to maybe target feed the aptasia?

Do your kids throw up on garage floor or wait until they get in the house on the fresh cleaned carpets? You have to realize something very important if you are going to get through life in one piece. Murphy was an optimist. :D

For this reason I in fact refuse to own carpet. I am a hardwood floor fan myself but I do understand your point.

At this point im thinking my best course of action is to scrape off all the aptasia I can because he likes to eat the small ones so even If i cause a infestation of a bunch of little ones growing back at least those will get eaten.

This has made me become OCD about what I put in my tank

Pure speculation here but.....

If you have an outbreak caused by scraping the larger ones off, it may help your corals survive by giving him more aptasia to eat. But that is a wild guess on my part.

Yah I am kind of hoping the same thing. I yelled at him and he just looked at me like "haha right then went back to grazing
