So I purchased a GBTA from a fellow member and in his holding tank, 1. it did have bubble tips and 2. it was definately green but 3. it was small (unexpanded). Now it's been in my tank under great lighting and current for about 3 or 4 weeks. In that time, the bubble tips have gone away (I understand this to be normal) and it has fully expanded when the lights are on...looks great this way....but it's no longer green. It's now more of a pale brown color. Is this normal? It wasn't on a rock when I got it but it's definately attached to one now and seems darned happy right where it's at so I have no intentions of moving it. Just wondering if the color will ever return.

I know the color fading is not a good sign esp if it starts to turning to white. My rbta turned browned and over about 5 months eventually died off.Id prob try to contain it, and allow it to get as much light as possibly...

Oh getting light isn't the issue and it appears healthy as can be. When it extends/expands....it's prob 6" in diameter with an 8" reach. It's certainly not heading toward white. I think part of the color is lost because it does extend so far...almost becomes opaque.

well in that case, id just check my params and closely watch it and hopefully it will color back up...
