Do I need a CUC?

I've been asking myself this question for a few days now. As I look at my tank, I seem to have no algae growing. It's a fairly new tank so time might bring the algae blooms up. But no food or detritus stays on the sand. It all gets picked up by the powerheads. I'm just asking if there's no appearance of algae or detritus do I really need a CUC? The algae will probably come any day now but just curious. Might be a dumb question.

Not a bad idea to start small...

A few dwarf hermits, a few small snail, a few Nassarius Snails, and a couple of true caribbean peppermint shrimp.
