Do puffers host?

I picked up a Valentini puffer yesterday and Im already in love! I feed him some shrimp just now and he scarfed it up. Now hes hovering really close to a zoa colony. kinda laying in it just sitting there.. Is he hosting this colony? Or is something wrong? or is he just a weirdo lol.
