I have 2 bags of DI resin. One is Anion and the other is mixed bed.. the anion smelled strongly like ammonia and the mixed bed was gold and blue but bag said Blue until it deplete then turns light brown...

Google "does deionization resin expire" and see what you think. If it were me and it was sealed I would use it as long as the TDS was zero.
That is the way I felt also because it was in a sealed bag. Of course I purchased it about 2 years ago so I wasn't quite sure

Gold and blue is normal and if it stayed in a vacuum seal, I would think it should be fine. I just recently replaced mine and the last time I bought it was like 3 years ago.

Carbon dioxide is what degrades the DI resin. I buy in bulk and after it's opened I keep in the original foil and wrap with several layers of plastic and have not had a problem

Thanks Steve.. I did exactly what you said.. set it up and TDS is running at zero...I do appreciate your help..
