Drain Bubbles

I have a Durso drain that is driving me nuts !! The issue is the bubbles in the sump at the drain are creating a lot of salt creep and there are drips hanging all over everything. I have 1 1/4 flex pipe going to a threaded 1 1/4 pipe going down about 1/2 inch above the water line. I have tried below the water line, adding holes, cut slits in the pipe, even e reverse durso at the end of the drain. ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS?

Put the dragon under water about an inch

I haven't tried this YET... but will this week end.

Google: reverse durso

Basically on your return... in the sump:

Attach a 90 elbow to the Return

the elbow will connect to the side of a tee. However, you want the tee larger than the return (to slow the water flow) so use a bushing between the elbow and tee. Example: 1" Return > 1" 90 elbow > 1" to 1 1/2" bushing > 1 1/2" tee.

Extend the bottom of the tee toward the bottom of the sump.

Extend the top of the tee oout of the water.

In theory... air will go up, and water will go down in the Tee.

I tried at 1" and 2" still a ton of bubbles and spray. I built two reverse durso's out of 2" PVC just like elFlyod said, not much better, foam coming out of the cap.

Perfect excuse to buy a bigger tank and start over!

Or... have you thought about going Herbie?

I did a Herbie, the gate valves in the drain were just a little too scary for me. Plus I only have two holes in each overflow. The tank is mounted in the wall, and can be seen from both sides. The overflows are on the ends. I'm building acrylic boxes basically to to connect on the ends of the drain pipes and trap bubbles and spray in the box. We will see how that goes.

OMG ! didn't work, worse. I could always go back to a herbie, run my returns up the sides inside the wall, wont change flow. Let's take a vote!

- return PVC deep underwater
- filter socks on the return
- make a cover for the return section of the sump

Reduce flow may be last resort.

Is your sump in the basement creating a big drop tank to sump?

I have the answer!!!! Bean Animal!!!! LOL.

I am going on a cruise.....on my lawnmower around my yard.
