im going to be drilling my tank soon or i guess i should say looking for someone to drill my tank toon. i have a 29g DT and 20g sump with a mag4 return. i was thinking of a 1" drain and 3/4" return. what size holes would actually need to be drilled for that size bulk heads? also how far below the rim should the holes be drilled? im not sure if i will be builing an overflow box yet.

so lastly who in the cobb area can drill :D

Check http://www.gl*******s.com">www.gl*******s.com</a> and you can get overflow kits. They will even have the correct size drill bits.

that's "glass holes", the filter picks up the middle, lol.

1" bulkhead needs a 1 3/4" hole.

3/4" bulkhead needs a 1 1/2" hole.

Sounds right, size-wise for drain and return. OR you can just have the return come up over the back - then you only need one hole.

edit: meant mag5 as the return

thank, i have looked at glass hole but im not sure i'd like to pay that much for an over flow kit, i can get acrylic from my work. also i wouldnt be comfortable in drilling my tank

I understand. Just throwing it out there as an option :)
